i have these random spurts of creativity and i get inspired by the things i get to blog about.
so armed with all the opportunities around me, i decided to try my hand with a tablescape shoot.
again, i can not stress how lucky and fortunate i am to get to know the people in this wedding industry. sometimes, i have to step back and say, "wait, i know them?! they're my friends?!"
inspired and supported emotionally by erin of dandelion and grey, and loving the tim burton style of alice in wonderland, i went forged ahead with my shoot. since there had been so many gorgeous, whimsical alice in wonderland themed shoots with lovely, soft pastel colors, i thought hard to see what would help make my ideas stand out. i had envisioned the more dark and twisty route as shown in the film. and i really wanted elements that no one had used yet.
with this shoot, i very much felt like a bride would. i had a certain vision and since this was my first, i knew that i needed a team that saw what i saw. and would be just as enthusiastic as i would be about what i wanted to create.
hence why the end result included the ever amazing and incredulous:
lauryl lane
jane of olive hue paper
adrienne gunde
i'd very much advise talking and communicating as much as possible with your wedding vendors. because i was able to talk almost every day with lauryl, jane and adrienne, everything was so clear to what we were going to be doing together. i made sure that i was easily accessible as well.
i took a trip down to the flower mart with lauryl where we found endless possibilities with the look i had imagined and she gave multiple suggestions since she was the expert. i spent time with jane, giving her the ideas for stationery, but making sure it was something she'd be comfortable and excited to create. i let adrienne know what style of shoot we were going for and informed her of details ahead of time, so she would know what to expect when she came to shoot.
however, despite me feeling like a bride, the blogger aspect of me was there too. and i really wanted to make sure that whatever the end result was that it would truly showcase the talents of this team. so while talking to lauryl, jane and adrienne, i made sure to express that they needed to feel important as well and their work should have a little of their style as well.
all i can say is, i seriously had such a great time with this little project. it was a true pleasure to work with these ladies, who are literally the best you could ever work with. thank you so much to lauryl, jane and adrienne for helping me with crazy vision and ideas and making them come to life. i could not be beyond ecstatic and so beyond belief with what we came up with.
here's part of my inspiration for the tablescape:
utterly engaged; look book via green wedding shoes; alice in wonderland; rams head; bergdorf goodman store via green wedding shoes
take a look and see what we came up with on style me pretty!!
you don't want to miss this.
