...i can't walk out because i love you too much, baby.
so i'm sure many newly engaged ladies out there are on the hunt for THE dress. but 1. the designer dress they want is putting too much of a damage in their wallet or 2. THE dress is still not quite how you would love it.
so let's take celia's story, found through east side bride (who btw i love for being a real and true voice, and her awesome taste in music):
"there are many reasons i went this route, but the main was so i could get the dress i REALLY wanted. like i said on esb, there are lots of gorgeous designer gowns out there, but even if i did have an extra $10,000 laying around, i just couldn't in any way justify paying that amount for a dress that wasn't TRULY one of a kind. my dress was one of a kind, and it cost me less than a tenth of that. i know this option is not for everyone, but i am a very picky girl. there were dresses i saw that i liked, but never loved."

"the process was simple and convenient. i met lindsey through a woman who had made two of my other friends' wedding dresses. i cannot stress this enough: get a referral! i feel like we clicked right away and she really understood my style and what i was looking for. i gave her pictures of different things i found inspiring, and together we came up with the design. it took no more that two hours. i love vintage everything and she suggested we use vintage lace for my dress. i thought of the idea of combining different laces for a bit of texture. we bought all the laces on ebay and the end result was gorgeous! don't get me wrong, i love how my dress looks in photos, but in person it's absolutely breathtaking. i believe we had 4 fittings total (all at my house) and the dress was done in three months. perfect, perfect, perfect!"

11 different vintage laces made up celia's wedding gown train...all from ebay...amazingly beautiful.

but more importantly, don't forget to stop by lindsey m nelson, couturier to check out the talent who helped to make celia's dress become reality. lindsey goes into detail here about the whole process, so definitely take a look.
