i'll always be true,
so please, love me do.
whoa, love me do.

---
betty from type a planning kindly sent me a recent bridal shower she did for her friend.
loved her cute details.

"First of all, this bride is one of my best friends. We've known each other for ages and have gone through thick and thin since the day we met in 1998. It's really something special to have a friend for this many years, and to see you through all your life experiences; marriage being one of the biggest milestones that we'll both have gone through."

The fun and interesting part being both the friend and the wedding planner is having that familiar relationship from the get go. It was apparent to me how important it is to forge a personalized relationship with your clients as the wedding planner. It really gives you insight on what your brides are really looking for in a style and vision for their big day!

The bride said to me one day regarding bridal showers, "Everyone and their mother has afternoon tea for their shower." I took that as a huge hint that a typical high tea type setting with little sandwiches and pastries wouldn't cut it for this bride. I contacted the bridesmaids and started working with them on finding a venue that would provide the elegant bridal shower feel, but without any sense at all of an afternoon tea setting. I suggested a standing cocktail reception with butler passed Hors d'œuvres to add a bit of sophistication to this atypical bridal shower setting.

We selected the Bouchon restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA for our private reception in honor of the bride to be. It turned out to be a beautiful setting, with indoor and outdoor elements, and a really nice French bistro type feel with the cafe style tables and chairs.

The theme behind the the details were girly, with a bit of shabby chic feel to it. The bride is an anthropology addict, so we wanted to bring a little bit of that to it as well. We wanted to feel DIY, rustic, and romantic at the same time. It was meant to feel homemade, so it was more personalized like it was made with love.

i'm loving the little details with this bridal shower.
bouchon is a splendid restaurant and a perfect setting for this.
