the bride look familiar? well it's brenda swann of Swann Soirees.
and this is her encore session shot so beautifully by alice hu.
why did she do an encore session?
well,...

"Our wedding day was a complete whirlwind of emotions; Anxiety, panic, fear, and desperation; Anxiety over a lost limo transporting my best friends, who had traveled from Australia & London to be at our wedding. Panic from being told Dayton’s 80-year old grandpa had to be rushed to the hospital before our ceremony due to heart complications. Fear that my dad, who was weak from his on-going cancer treatments, would not be able to make it through the day. Desperation, due to the impromptu, seemingly never-ending uber religious rant, that our officiant decided to go on during our 15 minute turned 50 minute ceremony!

We were more preoccupied with the speed the vintage Rolls Royce Limo could travel to the hospital, than we were to take any pictures. Our one photo priority was to get a WHOLE family shot: Grandparents, Parents, siblings & us. That’s it. Because we are all spread out thru the entirety of the US and have never ALL been together at one place, at once… this was the only picture we really put any value on. When got the shot (although sans grandparents), we rushed thru the rest of the photos and went off to the hospital. We didn’t even realize that we didn’t get any photos with our sons, which were the reason we selected our venue to begin with, so they could be with us!!

With no time or even patience to really bask in our newly-wed moments, pictures, video, and even guests, were really left in the dust (or at the open-bar actually) until we finally relaxed after dinner.

Having a second chance to really let the camera capture our happiness (and new daughter) was not quite like re-living the day, but the love & smiles hidden from it the first go round, were abundant for capturing this time."

sometimes encore sessions aren't such a bad idea. the wedding day can be pretty stressful, so encore sessions or even day after shoots allow only the bride and groom to have an intimate session with just them to soak in what this moment really means. they love each other now and forever, more today, than yesterday.

thanks alice hu for letting me share!
